Choosing the right solution
At Develco we offer advice on choosing the best wireless solutions. We do not have any preference for any particular technology, and therefore we can offer you a perfectly objective evaluation of the technology most suitable for your specific set-up.
Develco offers introduction seminars to ZigBee, Bluetooth and general wireless.
Bluetooth
We can offer you design and integration of Bluetooth in the shape of modules or chips. Design ranges from entire Bluetooth stacks and small applications running on the Baseband chip, to implementing L2CAP, SDP and profiles running on the application processor. Through partners we cooperate closely with, we have access to a large, professional RF laboratory, making it possible to optimise design of antennas and other parameters. In addition, we can manage the entire Bluetooth qualification process for you.

ZigBee is a new wireless standard focusing on two parameters: low cost and low power consumption. As one of the first firms in the world, Develco can offer design of ZigBee and IEEE 802.15.4 units.
Because we work closely together with the leading radio and stack suppliers, we are already now able to design ZigBee units which, once the approval process has finally fallen into place, will be approved by the ZigBee alliance.
WLAN
Wireless LAN is implemented at a modular level, using SDIO, PCMCIA, Mini PCI, USB or Compact Flash interface. Integration with 8/16-bit micro controllers is possible by means of a special SPI module manufactured by our partner in Taiwan.
Should WLAN as an integrated part of the total construction be the preferred solution, we can offer this as well, in cooperation with our partners.

GPRS
Integration of GPRS communication is available at a modular level. Develco works together with several well-reputed module suppliers.
Proprietary solutions
If the above standards do not fit your needs, we can offer to design a proprietary solution, based on one or more standard components, perhaps adding a new proprietary protocol. We can also offer design of other semi-standards, such as Wireless USB, Z-wave and others.
UWB – IEEE 802.15.3
Ultra wideband is a wireless standard offering very high data rates (114Mbit/s) combined with low power consumption, at a low cost. Develco will be observing this standard very closely, and will be able to offer solutions involving such a design as well.
GPS
Even though strictly speaking GPS is not wireless communication, there are so many similarities that we have chosen to include it here. We can offer integration of GPS modules and SW for collection and formatting of data. At Develco we have experience with modules from a number of suppliers. |
